Roleplaying Rules

   Posted by: Tav   in Uncategorized

  1. Try to remain in character as much as you can. We are a light roleplaying guild, but we strive to remain in character to help promote roleplaying.
  2. Instead of saying, “Tavor you have a higher Search skill than I do. Can you find the trap here?” Say something like “Tavor, your eyes are sharper than mine, do you spot any danger?”

  3. Attempt to have a character description in your biography page, not a history.
  4. Describe how your character looks, things that cannot be seen from your actual in game avatar. Maybe he has a diamond encrusted ring or a horrible scar on his chest. Don’t put a history here, we have no way of knowing that you grew up on a farm in Aundair just by looking at you.

  5. No spoilers.
  6. Not everyone has played out every single quest in DDO so avoid spoiling it for others. You can give subtle clues, in a roleplaying fashion, but do not outright spoil something. If you know there’s a fire trap ahead and the rogue does not seem to be searching around, say something like, “Something looks a little off here, what are those scorch marks from?” Avoid using this tactic if you can.
